If you're trying to lose weight, staying on track is vital.
It's been a weekend full of temptation...food temptation.
Friday night the Energy crew participated in the annual Bowl For Kids Sake to support The Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Peterborough. It was an awesome event and I further proved to myself that I really suck at bowling. I was almost beaten by my boss's six-year-old daughter. I pulled out a win by hitting a spare in the last frame. Perhaps doing a victory dance was pushing it...

Kidding aside, after the event the crew headed to Boston Pizza. I stuck with a couple light beers, which is allowed on the program for you guys who may be considering joining Herbal One. The best beer you can drink, since we're on the subject, is Sleeman Clear. You can safely have a couple of these. Sure it lacks in flavour a little, but there's no carbs so it's Herbal One approved!
Saturday night was a tough one too. I'm the backup "promotions announcer" at Peterborough Petes games. Basically, I'm the guy that announces contests during the game and the intermission. The regular guy was off for the night so I was working the game.
While I was at the game I ran into my good friend Ben Lyman who covers Petes games for TV Cogeco as a producer. Ben will be the first to tell you he's the reason I'm in broadcasting because it was him who gave me my first break on TV at the age of 16. It's true! If it hadn't been for him I don't know what I'd be doing for a living. Maybe I'd be the funniest squeegee kid in Ottawa....who knows. Anyway, Ben had invited me to join him and the crew from Cogeco at Jake's after the game. I know those guys work hard cause they built up a hell of an appetite. There was all kinds of great food at Jake's for the crew. I didn't have any however, since I wanted to stick to the program.
A lot of us tend to associate having a good time with friends by eating a lot of food...especially when it's free food. Since I had eaten before I went, I didn't need to eat again, so it wasn't like I was starving myself. Plus, even though I didn't eat with the crew, I still had a great time.
It's ok to cheat a little on the program. In fact, the staff at Herbal One will provide you with many different options of special treats you can have that won't mess up your progress. There's even ice cream on the list!
For me though, I plan to stick to the program 100%...except on Monday nights. That's Mug Club Night at Boston Pizza and I treat myself to Potato Skins that night. It's really the only time I cheat on the program, but I still, somehow, end up losing weight every week.
Tomorrow I begin week 6 on the program. There will be some updated numbers for you then.
Remember, you've got until Friday to sign up and save 50% off the program!
